This award is presented annually in recognition to
preservation of local history and culture for the benefit and enjoyment of
future generations.
Ruth and Howard Lindley have given extraordinary service to the
Society. They both served as president for 2 year terms. Howard was a life
member and a 12 year member of the Board of Directors. They were curators of
the Lindley House, she inside and he outside. Ruth, in costume, was hostess
in the Lindley room during the ice cream socials. They furnished the Lindley
room. Ruth worked 3 years to place the Lindley house on the national register
of Historic Places. Ruth named the Quaker Room in the Museum. Both served as
host and hostess at the museum on many occasions over the years. They both
were involved in other organizations and they served their community well.
