Donald F. "Fred"
Hundley, age 92, of Mt.
Vernon, IN, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Mt. Vernon Nursing and RehabilitationCenter.
He was born October 17, 1919, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Walter and Iva
He married Mary Ellen Gerton on August 1, 1950, in Evansville , and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2010.
He grew up on Stoy, IL, and graduated from Oblong, IL High School in 1937.
Mr. Hundley served in the Army in WW II and was stationed in Puerto Rico and France. After his discharge from the Army, he worked for
SOHIO Oil Co. He then worked for the Farm Bureau (Countrymark)
Refinery where he retired in 1982. He was a lifetime member of the Owen Dunn
American Legion Post #5. He was of the Christian Faith.
He is survived by a daughter
and son-in-law, Susan and Charlie Thompson, of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren and
their spouses, Michelle and David Blandford of
Evansville and Scott and Amanda Thompson of Mt. Vernon; three
great-grandchildren, Katie and Kyle Blandford and Max
Thompson; a sister-in-law, Ruth GertonBottomley, of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces, nephews and

Funeral services will be held
September 11, 2012, at , at Stendeback Family
Funeral Home in Mt.Vernon.
Visitation will be held from until the time of services in the funeral home
chapel. Burial will take place in BellefontaineCemetery.
