Alonzo Allyn, 83, a substantial retired Posey county farmer who had resided in Delray Beach, Fla., for several years, died there at 1:30 a.m. Saturday (29 Oct 1955).


The family formerly resided northeast of Mt. Vernon and later in Mt. Vernon.


The body of Mr. Allyn will reach Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon this afternoon.


Funeral and burial services are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.


Rev. Temas Taylor, pastor of Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church, will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Short-Niehaus chapel.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery at Bufkin.


Surviving are the wife, nee Olive Breece; a daughter, Mrs. Leone Richardson, Delray Beach, Fla; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a twin brother, Orlando, Mt. Vernon.  the late Mrs. Lawrence J. Utley of Mt. Vernon was a sister of the deceased. - Article incomplete
