Funeral services for William Edward Babcock, 45, a resident of Poseyville for 18 years, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Werry Chapel.  The Rev. Rice Kello, pastor of Poseyville Christian Church officiated.  Burial was in Poseyville cemetery.


A native of Evansville, Mr. Babcock died at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 23 in Deaconess Hospital after being stricken with a heart attack shortly after 9.  Mr. Babcock, who suffered a severe heart attack 10 years ago, became ill while clearing a clogged drain at his home on east Fletchall Ave.  He was taken to the hospital by Posey county ambulance.


Death occured on his 45th birthday.

The deceased was a 19 year employee of Whirlpool Corp. and was a veteran of the Korean war.


Surviving are the wife, Norma Sue; three sons, Richard, Michael and Bret, all at home, a daughter, Kathy, at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Babcok of Evansville, and sisters, Mrs. Wanda Collins of Evansville and Mrs. Betty Pogue of Louisville, Ky.
