Joseph Barrett passed away early Friday (22 Jun 1934) at Union hospital in Terre Haute. He was a former resident of the
Oakland City Community. He had been in failing health for several years.
Survivors include the wife Cora; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Renchler, of Anderson and DeEtta
Barrett of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Juda
Cleveland of Evansville; Mrs. Lucy Slifer of
Stuttgart, Ark; and Mrs. Ruth Mills of Atlanta, Ga; three brothers, Hiram of Elk City, Kansas; Will C of
Boulder, Colo; and Jack of Witchita,
Kansas; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at at the Thomas funeral chapel at Terre Haute with continued services Monday at at the Forsythe church near OaklandCity with burial in the church cemetery.
