Mrs. Fannie Oliver Blackburn, 73, wife of Rev. Arthur C. Blackburn, well known retired Posey county General Baptist minister, died suddenly at her home in the Oliver community at 3:20 a.m. today.

Death severed marital bonds that would have reached 55 years in December.

A representative of two pioneer local families, the deceased was a daughter of George W. Oliver and Lourana Barton Oliver.

Except for two years' residence as a girl in Southern Illinois, Mrs. Blackburn had spent her entire life in the Oliver community.  Her interests centered in her home and church.

The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral Home and will remain there until noon Saturday when it will be taken to Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church at Bufkin for the funeral service there at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Officiating clergymen will be Rev. H. W. Barr, pastor of Twelfth Avenue General Baptist Church, Evansville, and Rev. C. E. Terrell, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Church.  Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

Surviving, in addition to the husband, are three daughters, Mrs. John A. Starken, R. R. 3, Mrs. Russell Erwin, R. R. 4 and Mrs. Robert Travers, R. R. 3; three sons, Lehman Blackburn, R. R. 3, Paul Dale Blackburn, R. R. 3, and Arthur Robert Blackburn, Evansville, Ind; seven grandchildren, and a sister, Miss Pearl Oliver, Fort Lupton, Colo.
