Mrs. Polly Stonecipher Brown, 64, widow of Robert R. Brown, 64, and a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died Sunday (3 Jun 1956) in Hammond, Ind., where she resided with her son, Durbin Brown, an employee of Inland Steel.  Her husband died 23 years ago.


Funeral and burial services will be Wednesday afternoon in Hammond.


Surviving in addition to the son, are a daughter, Mrs. Marion Atwood, Munster, Ind. near Hammond; a sister, Mrs. George J. Thomas, R. R. 3, Mt. Vernon, and a brother, William Stonecipher, East St. Louis, Ill.


Mrs. Thomas, her daughter, Mrs. Garland Denbo, the latter's daughter, Mrs. John Lueder, and Mrs. Harvey Almon, a sister in law of the deceased, left Mt. Vernon early today for Hammond to attend the funeral.
