Gilbert B. Cox, 49, a Gas City, Ind., painting contractor and a native of Griffin in Posey county, died Friday in Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis.


He had resided in Gas City for the last two years, moving there from Evansville.


Menzie Cox, Griffin, ex-Posey county treasurer, is the father of the deceased.


The body is due to reach Browning Memory Chapel in Evansville today.  The funeral service has been set for 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel with Dr. Horace C. Sprague, minister of Evansville Central Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Evansville.


Surviving, in addition to the father, is the wife, the former Letha Barnett of the Griffin Barnett family; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Thompson, Evansville; three grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Cox, Evansville, and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Lord, Sarasota, Fla.
