March 14, 1955

Walter E Cox, 33, of 1127 Burris Street, Henderson, Ky a native of Lynn township and in recent years an employee of Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Co., succumbed to carcinoma at 3:34 a.m. Sunday (13 Mar 1955) at the Methodist Hospital in Henderson.


Prior to his entrance into the Army following World War II he was employed by the Weisinger Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.


The body was brought to the Weisinger Funeral Home yesterday from Henderson.


Elmer Fleener, Evansville an elder of the Primitive Baptist Church will conduct the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Weisinger chapel.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.


Surviving are the wife, nee Elizabeth Ann Tomlinson; two daughters, Barbara Kae, 4, and Jeanette Sue, 2; the parents, Joel N. and Anna Phillips Cox, Lynn township; the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Victoria Phillips, R. R. 3, Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Stevens, Phoenix, Ariz; Mrs. Calvin Barrett and Mrs. Anna Mae Martin, R. R. 1, New Harmony and three brothers, Charles Joseph, Mt. Vernon and Harold Lee and Francis Ray, R. R. 1 New Harmony.
