George J. Egli, 72, a retired Marrs township farmer, died at his home on R. R. 2, Mt. Vernon at 7:20 o'clock last night after failing health for a period of years.


He was never married and he and a bachelor brother, Walter, resided together.


The body is at Pierre Funeral Home in Evansville and the funeral service will be conducted in Pierre chapel at 2 p.m. Friday by Rev. Theodore M. Haefele, pastor of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Marrs township.  Burial will be in the Church cemetery.


Survivors in addition to the brother, Walter, are four other brothers, Oscar, East Black township, and Louis, Sam, and Bill, Evansville, and five sisters, Mrs. Emma Chaffee, Elkhart., Ind., Mrs Kate Oschman, Marrs township, Mrs. Nick Hartman, Marrs township, and Mrs. Elizabeth Herman and Mrs. John Southwell, Evansville.
