Fred C. Goss, 71, a retired farmer residing in Mt.Vernon and a representative of two prominent
pioneer families of Point township, died at today in St.MarysHospital in Evansville.
He had been ill for several weeks and entered the hospital from
his home at 1258 North Main street. A post-mortem autopsy was
performed at the hospital.
During the active years of his life, Mr. Goss was a Point township
farmer, moving to Mt.Vernon with his wife, the former Elfrieda Schneider, upon his retirement.
He had a wide acquaintance and was for many years active in local

The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral
Home and will remain there through the funeral service which will be conducted
at Friday in Short-Niehaus chapel.
Rev. August E. Binder pastor of Trinity Evangelical and pastor of Trinity
Evangelical and Reformed Church will be the officiating minister.
