Peter M. Lang, 82, a retired successful farmer of Enfield, Ill, and a native of Robinson township, Posey county, died at 8:20 o'clock Monday (16 May 1955) night in Welborn Memorial Baptist Hospital in Evansville after a brief illness.


He was the last of his generation of a prominent Posey county family.  His parents were Peter Lang and Wilhelmina Jurgensmeier Lang.


The deceased moved to the Enfield vicinity from his native Robinson township about 25 years ago.


The body is at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and will remain there until noon Thursday when it will be taken to Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Robinson township of which the deceased was an active member during his Posey county residence.  Rev. Raymond Hosto, Zion Church pastor, will conduct the funeral service at the church at 2 p.m.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.


Survivors include the wife, Anna Roedel Lang, and a large number of nieces and nephews in Posey County.
