Mrs. Eva McFarland 86, Vincennes, Ind., a sister of Mrs. Lawrence J. Utley, 517 Canal steet, Mt. Vernon, and a native of the Bufkin community in Posey county, died Wednesday (7 Apr 1954) afternoon in Vincennes.


She was a daughter of Francis Allyn and Lamyra Blackburn Allyn, representatives of early local families and spent her early life in Posey county.  She later lived in Evansville and Harrisburg, Ill., before going to Vincennes.


The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church at Bufkin with burial following in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.  The pastor of the Vincennes Church of Christ, with which Mrs. Mc Farland was affiliated, will officiate.


Surviving, in addition to the sister in Mt. Vernon, are six children by a former marriage to Walter Hollingsworth including three sons, Francis Hollingsworth, Urbana, Ill., Roscoe and Thomas, California and three married daughters, Maxine, Cairo, Ill., Pearl, Madisonville, Ky and Lillian, Evansville; several grandchildren and two brothers, Alonzo Allyn , Delray Beach, Fla and Orland Allyn of near Mt. Vernon.
