Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday for Mrs. Martha Ann Moffitt, 91, Indianapolis, widow of Robert Moffitt, the head of five generations and a former Mt. Vernon resident.


The body of Mrs. Moffitt reached the Weisinger Funeral Home her Saturday night from Indianapolis where the deceased had resided with a son, Arbie Moffitt.  Death occurred at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.


The body will remain at the Mt. Vernon funeral home until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the Methodist Church at Smith Mills, Ky; a native city of the deceased, and will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.  Rev. Billy H. Cato, pastor of Calvary Bible Church, Mt. Vernon, will conduct the funeral service in the Smith Mills church at 2 p.m.  Burial will follow in a Smith Mills Cemetery.


During her residence in Mt. Vernon from 1941 to 1946 Mrs. Moffitt lived with her son, William Wood.


Surviving are the sons, Arble Moffitt and William Wood; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Kronig, Hamilton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
