Richard Newton Parker, 92, died yesterday afternoon at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hogan, 313 E. Water street, after a long illness.
A native of Caldwellcounty, Ky., a son of Richard D. Parker and Nancy
Franklin Parker, the deceased came to Mt. Vernon in 1914. He and a brother, Paris,
who died in 1944, engaged in hauling and operated a horse and mule sales stable
for a number of years.

Home where friends are invited to call after Wednesday .
The funeral service will be at Thursday at the Weisinger
chapel with rev. Chester McGehee, pastor of FirstMissionaryBaptistChurch, in charge. Burial will be in

granddaughter, Mrs Dorothy Hoanselman,
two stepbrothers, Lloyd L. Parker and Robert D. Parker, both of Harrisburg, Ill. and two stepsisters, Mrs. Alta Weire, and Mrs. Aurora Gray, both of Galatia, Ill.
