Christian “Chris” Riecken, 80, native of Posey county, died early this morning in the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.


The deceased had resided in this county for many years and moved to Evansville about 35 years ago.  During his residence here he was a farmer.


Mrs. Riecken, the former Alma Uhde, died in 1937, and since that time Mr. Riecken had been making his home in Evansville with a daughter, Mrs. Paul Lupton 324 Leslie Street.  He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Evansville.


The body is at the Alexander funeral Home in Evansville where friends may call tonight.  Funeral services will be held there some time Saturday, at an hour to be announced later.  (Burial was in Tupman Cemetery, Evansville, IN)


Near surviving relatives are two sons, Asmus and theodore Riecken; four daughters, Mrs. Lupton, Mrs. Adolph Coudret, Mrs. Gilbert Ashworth and Mrs. Ray Elmore all of Evansville; two brothers, John of Mt. Vernon and Oscar of Evansville; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
