ILLNESS IF FATAL TO MRS ROBISON   (11 Oct 18982 Jun 1953)

Mrs. Irene Stettler Robison 54, wife of John Robison, an oil gauger and farmer, died at 10 o 'clock this morning at her home in Point township.

 

An almost life-long resident of Point township, Mrs. Robison was very prominent in the religious life of that community. She took a major role in organization of the Point township Church of the Nazarene and served the church as minister.

 

Illness of carcinoma dating from early last fall had been critical for several weeks and hospitalization in Evansville and St. Louis brought no relief.

 

The body is at the Weisinger Funeral Home, pending the completion of funeral arrangements late today.

 

Mrs Robison was a native of Tell City, In., but at the age of four years came to Point township with her parents and had resided there since. Her father, Godfred Stettler was a native of Switzerland. Her mother was Margaret Welch Stettler.

 

Surviving in addition to the husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Casper Eilert, Mt. Vernon, and Norma Ann Stettler, at home; two sons, Ervin Robison, Route 5, and Charles Edward, at home; five grandchildren, and three brothers, Mike G Stettler, Louisville, Ky; William F Stettler, Mt Vernon, and Carl A Stettler, Mt. Vernon.

RITES ON THURSDAY FOR MRS ROBISON

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Irene Stettler Robison 54, wife of John Robison, who died at 10 a.m. tuesday at her home in Point Township.

 

The body will remain at the Weisinger Funeral home until it is removed to the Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Vernon where the funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday by Rev. Paul T. Byrns, pastor. Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery. Mrs Robison took a prominent role in organization of the Point township Church of the Nazarene and served it as minister.

 

Surviving in addition to the husband, a farmer and oil gauger are two daughters, Mrs. Caper Eilert, Mt. Vernon and Norma Ann Robison, at home; two sons, Ervin Robison, R 5, and John Edward Robison at home; five grandchildren and three brothers, Mike G. Stettler; Louisville, Ky; William F. Stettler, Mt Vernon, and Carl A Stettler, Mt. Vernon.

DEATHS-FUNERALS

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Mt. Vernon Church of the Nazarene at Bellefontaine cemetery for Mrs. Irene Stettler Robison, 54, wife of John Robison, who died Tuesday at her home in Point township.

 

Rev. Paul T. Byrns, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, was the officiating minister, Pallbearers were Edward Yeida, Louis Upshaw, Charles Reinitz, Barnett Loehr, William Breeze, and Oscar McGennis.
