Ollie E. Rowe, 81, a Mt. Vernon carpenter for many years, died at 7 o'clock this morning at Newton Rest Home in Evansville.  He had been ill almost a year.


A native of Harrison county, Indiana, the deceased spent most of his life in Mt. Vernon and in pursuing his trade as a carpenter was associated with the building industry here for many years.


The body is at the Short-Niehaus Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted in Short-Niehaus chapel at 10 a.m. Monday.  Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery.


Prior to his entrance of the nursing home he resided with his daughter, Mrs. Napier Kuhlenschmidt, in Evansville for several years.  Another daughter, Mrs. Valeda Collins, R. R. 1 Newburgh, and three grandsons survive.
