William Schreiber, 96, a well known farmer residing a mile southwest of Caborn on R. R. 1, Mt. Vernon, died at 2:50 a.m. today at his home.


He had spent his nearly century-long life in the one Posey county locality and had been a widower for 62 years.


The deceased's parents were Andrew Schreiber and Elizabeth Hauser Schreiber.


The body is at Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and the funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Short-Niehaus chapel.  Burial will be in Colvin cemetery in Marrs township.


Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cornelius Seifert, R. R. 5, Evansville, and Mrs. Louis Guth, R. R. 1, Mt Vernon; a son, Walter Schreiber, Evansville, and 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
