Rev. Chaylen E Terrrell, 53, pastor of Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church at Bufkin since August, 1953, and a prominent figure in South Posey county church affairs died very suddenly at 11:30 o'clock last night at his home, the Mt. Pleasant parsonage, near the church.

He was a native of Enfield, Ill., and assumed the pastorate of Mt. Pleasant Church after a successful ministry at Omaha, Ill.

His passing following the brief acute illness came as a district shock to his family, parishioners and friends.

The body will remain at Short-Niehaus Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon until Friday morning when it will be moved to Kittinger Funeral Home in Carmi, Ill.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Omaha, Ill., General Baptist Church.  Burial will be at Enfield.  Officiating ministers will be Rev. O. R. Fuleher, Rev. Don Rister and Rev. James Carber.
