MULLEN & DRIVER
My Grandmother Jessie May Mullen always said she was 1/2 Cherokee.
Her father was Alkanaha Mullen and he was married to Mary E. Driver.
They lived in Muncie and Farmland, Indiana.
Mary my Great Grandmother has stories passed through
about how the Indian runners use to Stay at their cabin in the woods,
before they took off to send their message on to the chief.
If you have any information on these families,
Please contact June London

Daughter of Garrett & Mary Puckett
Married Jeremiah Reed Sept. 14, 1855
Jeremiah Reed is the son of Dempsey Reed
His mother may be Barsheba Dolby or Elizabeth Patterson, depending on his birth date.
This is the story passed down to us.
One of our Adams Men married an Indian woman and was disowned by his family
We have three Adams men that married women who may have Indian Heritage.

Nathan A. (Tine) Adams married Gertrude Clevenger.
Gertrude is the granddaughter of Jeremiah and Rebecca Reed.
I am curious to find if there is any Indian Heritage connected to the following surnames:
ADAMS, COX, DOLBY, ESSEX, REED, PAINTER, PUCKETT & SHANKS
