Rush County, Indiana Genealogy

In 1822 Rush County was carved out of the southern part of Delaware County, and Rushville was chosen as the county seat.  The standard history of the county is Brant and Fuller, History of Rush County (Chicago, 1888).  Townships in the county are Anderson, Center, Jackson, Noble, Orange, Posey, Richland, Ripley, Rushville, Union, Walker and Washington.

These Rush County genealogy pages, which are located at RootsWeb, are co-ordinated by John Ballard.  They constitute part of INGenWeb, a network established in June 1996 for the collection, indexing and cross-linking of Indiana genealogy databases, and maintained in conjunction with USGenWeb.  For information on INGenWeb, contact Debby Beheler, the state coordinator, or Sharon Craig, the assistant state coordinator.
