Robert's first son was named Alexander and his second son, James.

Between 1786 and 1788 the following Wilson's were recorded as supplying materials for, or being active in the Kentucky Militia: Sergeant David Wilson under Colonel Robert Todd; George Wilson; Henry Wilson under General George Rogers Clark; Isaac Wilson; Samuel Wilson under Colonel Robert Todd.

There is a record of a Revolutionary War soldier named Robert Wilson living in Jefferson County, Kentucky, (the county where Louisville is now) in 1790. His will is dated 8 December 1834, and his wife's name was Jane, who inherited all his estate and slaves. He was still due money from the United States government for military service. It is on Page 54. The witnesses were J. F. Pendergash and Benjamin Summers.

In 1800 there is a Robert Wilson living in Bullitt County, which was carved from Jefferson County in 1797. In 1800 there is an Alexander in Jefferson County. And, by 1810 there was a Robert Wilson in both Jefferson and Bullitt Counties.

In 1800 there was an Alexander Wilson, the name of Robert's first son, in Franklin and Jefferson Counties. These counties were near Henry County. There was also a James Wilson in these two counties.

In 1810 there was an Alexander, James, Robert and William Wilson who lived near each other. The page numbers recording them in the census are 21, 26, 24 and 21 respectively. James was born before 1765, so he could have been Robert's father, and the others were born later, who could have been Robert's brothers.

According to the County Historian of Jefferson County, Indiana, four brothers came to Jefferson County. They were Nathaniel, William, John, and Robert Wilson. One record indicated that William was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and had nine children, but there was no Robert.

The death certificate of his son James indicates that he was born in Ireland. He resided at his farm in 1816 in Jefferson Co., Indiana.1 On 13 November he purchased 160 acres at the southwest quarter of Section 24, Township 5 North, Range 8 East in Jefferson County, Indiana. However, no deed could be found in the grantor or grantee books at Jefferson County, Indiana. He resided at his farm in 1833 in Jeffersonville, Clark Co., Indiana.22 On 26 June 1833 Robert Wilson purchased 80 acres which was the north 1/2 of the northwest 1/4 of Section 32 of Township 4 of Range 7 East in the Jeffersonville District which contained 80 acres for $120 from Samuel and Elizabeth McGill of Bracken Co., Kentucky. He resided at his farm from 1839 to 1870 in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana.23,24,25 There is a record that he purchased land in the Jennings Township, about 3 miles east of Austin. He helped organize the Methodist Church in Austin. It was originally known as the Whitson Church and was located in what is now the Austin (or possibly the Whitson) Cemetery.

There is mentioned the names Isaac Wilson and T. B. Wilson in the history of Scott County, but it is unknown if they are related. There is also a Wilson Road in Vienna Township.

A Robert H. Wilson patented the North West Quarter of the North West Quarter of Section 23 of Township 3-N of Range 7-E of the 2nd Prime Meridian consisting of 40 acres on 10 May 1848. Benjamin H. James is recorded as 26 years old.

He resided at his farm in Jennings Township from 1856 to 1860 in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana.72,73,74,75,76 On 10 July 1856 James Harvey Wilson purchased the west 1/2 of the northwest 1/4 of Section 4 of Township 3 of Range 7 in Scott County which contained 80 acres for $400 from Benjamin H. Perry of Henry County, Kentucky. Henry County was created from Shelby County in 1799, and Shelby County was created from Jefferson County in 1792.

On 8 August 1856 James H. and Permelia Wilson sold to William S. Wilson (James' brother) the northwest forth of the northwest quarter of Section 4 of Township 3 Range 7 East containing 40 acres in Jefferson County for $300. Thus, James sold the north 40 acres of the 80 acres of land that he just bought in July to his brother William in August. The south 40 acres of ths land, James sold to John McLane on 8 August 1856.

In 1860, his land was valued at $1000 and personal estate was valued at $400. It was recorded that he was 36 years old, or born in 1823/24.

The land seems to be at the intersection of Slab Road and Cutshall Road. James lived in Indiana, and later moved to Kansas. In 1888 they lived in a sod house in Decatur Co., Kansas. He was a pioneer of Decatur Co. He was a Mason for 50 years.

She may have been the daughter of Joseph.

She was a woman of deep piety who dearly loved her church. She was converted on 10 March 1858 in the M. E. Church, and remained a Christian afterwards. In later years she smoked a pipe, she was always very delicate. She died of pneumonia.

There is a Salyersville in the eastern central part of Kentucky and one in California. It is possible that her ancestor's name may have been Salyard or Salyards. Her name is spelled Salier on her marriage license to Robert Wilson.

There is a Salier Family in Illinois in the early to middle 1800's. However, they seem to be recent immigrants from France, since the names are Claude, Dominique, Bapt., and John, and they married individuals who had French given names and surnames. Sometime in the middle 1800's he migrated from Scott County, Indiana, to Decatur County, Kansas. He filed a homestead about 4 miles southwest of Jennings, and was one of he early pioneers of the county. Here he built a sod house and a sod stable. He raised corn. This was virgin ground that was plowed for the first time. The sod house had walls 7 feet high, with a brush and sod roof. The inside was plastered with native lime, and heated with a cook stove. The floor was covered with straw and a rug. There were two rooms (16'x12' and 12'x12'). He worked near Clay Center, Kansas and earned about $1.00 to $2.00 per day husking corn.

Here he met his future wife Mary Belle. They were married and then moved to the homestead. He was a tea-totaler, but sampled wine on one occasion. Around 1894 he began working on odd jobs, and lived with Uncle Joe for a while. He worked on a dairy farm and any thing he could do. He became discouraged in December 1898, bought a team and covered wagon, and moved back to Decatur County in a snow storm. He lived in the sod house for a while, then moved to Jennings, Kansas. He was in poor health most of his life. By 1930 he was blind.

They marched to Louisville, Kentucky on August 29 and into September. They joined the pursuit of General Bragg with several other armies from Ohio. He was under the command of Union General Rosecrans, who was an excellent commander, well liked by his troops. They were at the battle of Perryville on 8 October 1862, but did not see actual combat. They then marched to Nashville, Tennessee, where Thomas died of disease. The regiment left Nashville on 26 December 1862 for Murfreesboro and saw action during the battle of Stone River on 31 December.

The regiment later saw duty in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. The regiment mustered out 13 June 1865. The regiment lost 4 officers and 52 enlisted men in action, and 1 officer and 188 enlisted men by disease. She was also known as Martha.240 Her name is spelled Mathana on her marriage license. Several sources use the first name Mahala. The Davis, Spencer, and James families seemed to travel together and live near each other. They originated in Henry and Bath County, Kentucky.
