His name could be James, Robert, William or Thomas or something else, since these are common names of his children and other descendants. Robert's first son was named Alexander and his second son, James.

Between 1786 and 1788 the following Wilson's were recorded as supplying materials for, or being active in the Kentucky Militia: Sergeant David Wilson under Colonel Robert Todd; George Wilson; Henry Wilson under General George Rogers Clark; Isaac Wilson; Samuel Wilson under Colonel Robert Todd.

Before 1790 there were the following Wilson's recorded as owning land in Kentucky: Jonathan (1780 Kentucky); Henry (1780 Kentucky County); Henry Sr. (1782 Fayette County); James Wilson with others (1784 to 1787 Fayette County); Edward (1786 Fayette County); George (1786 Fayette County); George (1783-85 Jefferson County), Henry (1785 Jefferson County); John (1782 Military and Kentucky County); Joseph (1785-88 Military); Matthew (1787 Fayette County); Robert (1783-89 Coxes Creek, Jefferson County); William (1786 Fayette County); Willis (1787 Military); and Thomas (1788 Fayette County).

There is a record of a Revolutionary War soldier named Robert Wilson living in Jefferson County, Kentucky, (the county where Louisville is now) in 1790. His will is dated 8 December 1834, and his wife's name was Jane, who inherited all his estate and slaves. He was still due money from the United States government for military service. In 1800 there is a Robert Wilson living in Bullitt County, which was carved from Jefferson County in 1797. In 1800 there is an Alexander in Jefferson County. And, by 1810 there was a Robert Wilson in both Jefferson and Bullitt Counties.

In 1800 there was an Alexander Wilson, the name of Robert's first son, in Franklin and Jefferson Counties. These counties were near Henry County. There was also a James Wilson in these two counties.

In 1810 there was an Alexander, James, Robert and William Wilson who lived near each other. The page numbers recording them in the census are 21, 26, 24 and 21 respectively. James was born before 1765, so he could have been Robert's father, and the others were born later, who could have been Robert's brothers.

According to the County Historian of Jefferson County, Indiana, four brothers came to Jefferson County. They were Nathaniel, William, John, and Robert Wilson. One record indicated that William was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and had nine children, but there was no Robert.

In Jefferson County, Kentucky, there is a marriage recorded between Alexander Wilson and Frances Stewart on 20 October 1814.

There is a will recorded in Scott County, Indiana, for James Willson, Sr. (Book A, Page7). He resided at his farm in 1816 in Jefferson Co., Indiana.1 On 13 November he purchased 160 acres at the southwest quarter of Section 24, Township 5 North, Range 8 East in Jefferson County, Indiana. He helped organize the Methodist Church in Austin. It was originally known as the Whitson Church and was located in what is now the Austin (or possibly the Whitson) Cemetery.

There is mentioned the names Isaac Wilson and T. B. Wilson in the history of Scott County, but it is unknown if they are related. There is also a Wilson Road in Vienna Township.

A Robert H. Wilson patented the North West Quarter of the North West Quarter of Section 23 of Township 3-N of Range 7-E of the 2nd Prime Meridian consisting of 40 acres on 10 May 1848. Benjamin H. Wilson in 1870 in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana.28,29,30,31 Robert was not living with his wife at this time according to the 1870 census. He died on May 7, 1871 in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana.18,1,32 He was buried after May 7, 1871 in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana.33,34 It is possible that Robert is buried in a small cemetery south east of Austin according to Willa Mae Heisler who's relatives gave some land for the cemetery. There is a Whitson Cemetery south east of town where several other relatives are buried.

Robert WILSON was married to Rebecca RICH (daughter of Samuel RICH and __________?) on January 14, 1819 in Jefferson Co., Indiana.35,1,36,37,38,39,40,41,42,43 Scott County, Indiana, was formed in 1820 from part of Jefferson County. They were married by Thomas Hill. Rebecca RICH1,44 was born about 1795 in __________?. She died about 1822 in __________?. Robert WILSON and Rebecca RICH had the following children:

This would be the cemetery closest to town. The Whitson Cemetery is southeast of town, and it is likely she is buried here. Robert WILSON and Jane PERRY had the following children:

B. James Harvey WILSON58,59,1,60,61,62,63,64 was born on July 10, 1826 in Jefferson Co., Indiana.18,65,66,67,68,69 Several sources indicated that he was born in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana. Perry of Henry County, Kentucky. Henry County was created from Shelby County in 1799, and Shelby County was created from Jefferson County in 1792.

On 8 August 1856 James H. and Permelia Wilson sold to William S. Wilson (James' brother) the northwest forth of the northwest quarter of Section 4 of Township 3 Range 7 East containing 40 acres in Jefferson County for $300. Thus, James sold the north 40 acres of the 80 acres of land that he just bought in July to his brother William in August. The south 40 acres of ths land, James sold to John McLane on 8 August 1856.

In 1860, his land was valued at $1000 and personal estate was valued at $400. It was recorded that he was 36 years old, or born in 1823/24.

The land seems to be at the intersection of Slab Road and Cutshall Road. He was elected as trustee for the Methodist Church in 1860 in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana.77 He was a farmer in 1880 in Austin, Scott Co., Indiana.1 He resided at his home from 1887 to 1910 in Jennings, Decatur Co., Kansas.78,79,80 He lived southeast of town in Allison Township. It is unknown if she is the daughter of James and Parmelia, since the ages of known children do not correspond.

James lived in Indiana, and later moved to Kansas. In 1888 they lived in a sod house in Decatur Co., Kansas. He was a pioneer of Decatur Co. He was a Mason for 50 years.

In the 1860 census of Scott County, there is a M. H. Wilson, age 54, merchant, born in Pennsylvania (about 1805/06), Thomas R. Wilson, age 49, merchant, born in Pennsylvania (about 1810/11), and Phillip Golden, age 24, gunsmith, born in Indiana (about 1835/36).

There is a Salyersville in the eastern central part of Kentucky and one in California. It is possible that her ancestor's name may have been Salyard or Salyards. Her name is spelled Salier on her marriage license to Robert Wilson.

There is a Salier Family in Illinois in the early to middle 1800's.
