The Scott County Genealogical Society has Research Rooms (2 rooms) at the Scott County Heritage Center and Museum. The group remains very excited about this venture.

Over 300 books that were stored since the courthouse was allowed to give them to us have been placed in the research rooms.

Location of the rooms:The Scott County Heritage Center & Museum, 1050 South Main Street, Scottsburg.

Hours of operation: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The first Saturday of each month, the rooms will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sundays by appointment only.

The Scott County Genealogical Society is still accepting family histories to be included in the Research Rooms at the Scott County Heritage Center and Museum. They can be one page or dozens of pages, but we ask that the name and address of the person submitting be on the material, along with the date of preparation, so that researchers can contact them. Please include email address and web site url if applicable.
