The purpose of this program, sponsored by Southern Indiana Genealogical Society, is
'TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF THE PIONEERS/FIRST FAMILIES
WHO CAME AND LIVED IN THE NEW ALBANY-FLOYD COUNTY
BEFORE DECEMBER 31, 1840'
Anyone who can prove descent from at least one of those pioneers is eligible for recognition.

A Guidebook Listing Early Pioneers and Many of their Descendants
This book was designed to help people determine whether or not their ancestor was here by December 31, 1840.
Publication of this book happens to coincide with the New Albany Bicentennial 2013 - The celebration of the
200th Anniversary of the City of New Albany.
