The Hoffmann Family of Suchorecz, Szaradowo Parish, Posen
The Hoffmann Family in St Joseph County, Indiana had its origins in the village of Suchorecz near the manorial farm of Clarahof. On June 24, 1863 Christopher and Anna (Heinz) Hoffmann presented their son John for baptism at the Parish Church at Szaradowo, in the powiat of Nakielski, Prussian Poland.
In the 21st year of his life (June 02, 1884) John will marry Franciszka Andrysiak (19) the Daughter of Casimir and Rosalia (Galas/Lengas) Andrysiak at the Parish Church near Szaradowo. The Andrysiaks are tenant farmers on the manor at Clarahof.
John and Franciszka will immigrate to America the following year and settle in South Bend, Indiana. John is employed as an Iron Molder at the Oliver Plow factory. Three children will be born to this union Walter after 1884, Bruno on July 10, 1888, and Helen on August 09, 1893. Franciszka will pass during Helens childbirth. Unfortunately no documents religious or civil mark her passing and a wedding picture does not survive.
However we believe that Franciszka is mirrored in this lovely surviving photo of the three children.
