Alberta M. Milcarek

Alberta M. Milcarek, 88, of Cherry Tree Lane, South Bend, Ind., died of an extended illness Sunday, March 24, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born Oct. 13, 1913, in Topeka, Kan., to Albert Angus and Emma Isabel (Nadeau) MacDonald.

 

Mrs. Milcarek was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles, and remained active after she moved to South Bend in 1990 where she became a member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church. She was a former retail salesperson with the Grand Leader in South Bend. Mrs. Milcarek enjoyed reading and all types of sports.

 

Surviving family for Mrs. Milcarek includes her daughter, Sharon Calkins of South Bend; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Winfield MacDonald of South Bend; two sisters, Patricia Kroger and Mildred Seall, both of South Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Kinch, who died June 5, 1980; and by a brother, William A. MacDonald.

 

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Niles. There will be no visitation. Contributions in memory of Alberta M. Milcarek may be made to Hospice of Saint Joseph County. Arrangements are by the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
