SOUTH BEND --
Eldonna Yike, 69, of Grant Road, died Saturday in Indiana
University Hospital, Indianapolis, due to complications from a
liver transplant. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Yike of
South Bend; three sons, Brian of Liberal, Mo., and Kenneth and
Michael, both of South Bend; and two brothers, Gene Matthews of
Naples, Fla., and Dale Matthews of Madison, Wis. Services will be
at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix
Drive, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Eldonna (Sue) Yike, 69, of Grant
Road, South Bend, Ind., died Saturday, March 5, in Indiana
University Hospital in Indianapolis due to complications from a
liver transplant. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Yike of
South Bend; three sons, Brian (Glenna) Yike of Liberal, Mo.,
Kenneth (Janie) Yike of South Bend, and Michael Yike of South
Bend; two brothers, Gene (Jennie) Matthews of Naples, Fla., and
Dale (Randi) Matthews of Madison, Wis.; five grandchildren, Josh
(Alishia), Dani (Ryan), Aubrey, Rachel and Marissa; and three
great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jamie, and Angel. She was preceded
in death by her parents; and her husband, Keith Yike in 2002.
She was born April 7, 1935, to Miles and
Marie Matthews. She retired in 2004 after 24 years of
service from the St. Joseph County Probation Department.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday,
March 8, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive,
South Bend. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday,
March 9, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow at
Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made
to the Pet Refuge Inc., 2300 West 6th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
