Barbara Jane Sattler Kirkpatrick

Barbara Jane Sattler was born and raised in Lafayette , Tippecanoe , Indiana until her sophomore year in High School when her family moved to Romney, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana . She is married to Kenneth Kirkpatrick and they have two children. Barb and Ken, in 1999, moved Lafayette and reside at 2200 Iroquois Trail. Barb’s email address is bfatk@comcast.net. John Sattler, b. 26 Nov. 1832 in Hesse, Darmstadt , Germany , m. Catherine Elisabeth Sattler 3 Oct 1853 in New Brunswick, Middlesex Co., New Jersey, he d. 24 Apr. 1907 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. John came to America in 1851. Catherine Elisabeth, b. 9 Jun. 1834 in Hesse, Darmstadt, Germany, d. 21 Apr. 1895 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. They are both buried in Greenbush Cemetery . There were 11 children born in this union 1 in New Jersey and 10 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, 2 died in infancy and it is said they “adopted” a girl. John was a tailor and had Sattler & Sons Tailoring. John’s parents, Johann Georg and Elisabeth Kempf Sattler and his 3 siblings followed in 1854. His parents and 2 sisters died in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana

Elisabeth M., b. 12 Oct. 1834 in Koditz , Bavaria , Germany , d. 13 May 1920 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. There were 6 children born in this union.

Elias Schuessler b. 13 Aug 1839 in Bodelshausen, Schwartzwald, Wurttemberg, Germany, m. Anna Katherine Theurer 7 Oct 1860 Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, d. 14 Mar. 1908 in Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois. Anna Katherine b. 25 Oct. 1839 , Fuenfbronn, Swartzwald, Wurtemberg , Germany , d. 27 Oct. 1926 in Danville , Vermilion Co., Illinois . Seven children were born in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana and the youngest in Attica, Fountain Co., Indiana . Elias came to America with his parents, Jacob and Agnes Steeb Schuessler and 8 siblings in 1852. Jacob and Agnes both died in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana and are buried in Greenbush Cemetery and 2 brothers are also buried there.

Anna Margaret b. 28 Jul. 1837 , Kieselbach, Saxony Wiemer , Germany , d. 24 Mar. 1904 , Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. Both are buried in Greenbush Cemetery . There were 10 children born in Tippecanoe Co., 9 in Lafayette and one born in Romney.

Christina Elizabeth b. 12 Jun 1808 , Kieselbach, Saxony Weimer , Germany , d. 29 Aug 1882 , Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. Johann Elias and Christina are both buried in Greenbush Cemetery . There were 6 children born in the first marriage and 7 in the second. Anna and Christina were sisters.
