Gordon Dale Hooker
August 7, 1940 – May 3, 2006

Gordon was born and raised in Pine Village, Warren County, IN the son of William Merle and Hilda Hughes Hooker. He graduated from Pine Village High School in 1958 and Purdue with degrees in Aviation Technology and Industrial Education. He married Sheila Loso in 1968 and has lived in Tippecanoe County since then. They have a son Rick and a daughter Deb and 2 grandchildren. Gordon began researching his family in 1974 and has been a member of TIPCOA-genealogy and cemetery restoration for 5 years. James Delbert Hooker was born Apr 15, 1884 in Benton County. He married Rose High, daughter of Isaac High and Margaret Hindman, Oct 23, 1904. Children of this marriage were Ray, Louise Hooker Slavens, Aurel Hooker Willer, and *William Merle. Rose died Apr 1, 1976 and James Feb 9, 1977 and they are buried in the Pine Village Cemetery in Warren Co, IN.

John William JR was born Mar 4, 1851. He married Pheobe Catherine Roberts, daughter of John Roberts and Catherine Allenduff, Feb 21, 1875. Children of this marriage were Daisy Edith, Lewis Harmon, Rhoda, *James Delbert, Nellie, and Otis. Pheobe died Feb 1894 and John married Mary Freeman May 1905. His 3^rd marriage was to Betty Brown in 1926. John died in 1930 and is buried in Boswell, IN.

John William SR was born June 1825 in Ross Co, Ohio. He married Mary Mahala Davis Nov 1848 in Warren Co, IN. Their children were *John William JR and Sarah Maria. The story told is that John and Mary were headed west when attacked and killed by Indians about Jul 1851. The children were brought back to IN. Burial place of John and Mary Mahala is unknown.

William Hooker was born about Aug 1783 in NC (?). He married Rebecca Woolaston, daughter of Ebnezer Woolaston and Susanna about 1804. Their children were Silas, Ebenezer born in NC, James H., Hannah, Nancy, *John William born in Ross Co, Ohio, and Martha birthplace unknown. Rebecca died Aug 1855 and is buried in the Hooker Cemetery in Pine Village. William married Elizabeth Metsker Oct 1857 and possibly Nancy Smith in 1861. William and Silas died Mar 1, 1863 and are buried in the Hooker Cemetery.

Charles Herbert Hughes was born Jan 1887 in Delphi, IN. He married Eva Haynes, daughter of John Haynes and Hanna Brooks Mar 1909. Their children were Edith, *Hilda, Raymond, William, Gladys, Arthur, Harold, and Paul. Hilda, William, and Paul lived in Tippecanoe Co. Eva died Aug 1961 and Charles Aug 1966 and both are buried in Delphi, IN.
