Below is a listing of cemeteries, that are known, for this County. They are displayed in a township order. Burial lists for many cemeteries have been added to the Find-A-Grave site as volunteers work through them and re-read these tombstones. Most listings in the southern part of the county have obituaries posted to them thanks to Thelma Brooks-Morgan. A few cemetery pages are linked to the Tippecanoe County Genweb site or other family web pages.
On my journey around the County, I've taken overall photograph of each cemetery and they are linked below for you to view. Several cemeteries have been completely destroyed, as you will see in my list below. As the public continues to contribute new digital photos to these listings, you may find different dates than you have seen in the past, some will correct previously recorded readings you might have found in old card files, libraries or old books. I'm finding this is very common around the state. Working with a digital camera can reveal better dates. Some need to be cleaned. Here is an good article on cleaning. Learn to clean the old tombstones Some will take time and patience. It can be helpful to go in the colder months after the frost has hit the area. The tombstones will read clearer. I have also linked some of my projects where I've restored or helped someone else restore or clean a cemetery. If anyone is interested in helping photograph in Tippecanoe County, please check the list below. Most of the bigger ones still need help. I could use help at Old Greenbush. I have several maps to help too.
Find-A-Grave has new GPS & satellite maps on each cemetery page.
By chance should you have any old burial readings, maps or records that can help share history of these old cemeteries, I want to hear from you. Any old church history too from the 1800's that were connected to the pioneer cemeteries. If their records exist this could help complete a cemeteries history. Our Genealogy Society has created a new list for the older churches.
Early Churches of Tippecanoe County
So many records have been locked or thrown away in this County, please share what you know, it will help others in the search to correct and preserve our family and Tippecanoe County history.
Below are links to help you find more information. Also see under the list.
