RECENT NEWS
08 June 2010. This was the last
meeting of the 2009-10 year for TSGS. The Officers
and Directors who were elected in May were installed
for the year 2010-11.
This was the first installation meeting attended by
your webmaster, and I seen it as a very thoughtful,
meaningful, and somewhat emotional event. Lyn Martin,
Willard Library's Special Collections Department
(Genealogy & History) TSGS member ex-officio
performed the swearing-in ceremony in which, after
calling each elected officer's name, directed them to
stand before the membership and take the oath of
their office. Lyn did a remarkable job, and I wanted
to take this opportunity to thank her on behalf of
TSGS for all of her support.
The officers sworn in for the one year term were
President, John West; Vice President, Doug Korb;
Treasurer, Bettie Cook; Recording Secretary, Karin
Kirsch; Corresponding Secretary, Sue Hebbeler;
Membership Chairman, Don Pierce; Program Chairman,
Becky West; and Packet Editor, Brenda Legate.
The directors installed were: Larry Goss, Rena Goss,
Janet Mann, Gloria Strott, Mary Lou Bevers and Don
Counts.
