Charles MESERVE is listed in the 1850 Census, in Brownsville, with wife Mary JONES, son George, and daughter Nancy. I believe from an 1862 census of eligible males to serve in the war, he was in Co G of the 69th Indiana Infantry. However, he is not listed as Charles MESERVE. I believe he is listed as Charles MESSER. He is buried in Connerville City Cemetery. I am looking for any information on him and his wife Mary. He was born about 1815 in Ohio. Who were his parents, in-laws? What happened to George? etc?
I am searching for a marriage record for my GG grandparents, William PROBASCO and Julia DICKERSON who were married 1859-1860. He was from Ohio and she was from Ky. Has anyone come across the names of the following people while looking in cemeteries or obit. notices. John M. Sheafer married to Mary A. Cox had four sons: Ernest; Bob; John; none of these ever married. Abraham did marry and he is buried in Richmond, IN. The family were all born in Ohio (sons in Preble Co.) but sometime around 1900 they moved to Union County north of Billingsville. The youngest (Abe) married Cora Mae Hannah (my grandparents)I have not been able to find any records of John and Mary Sheafer and 3 of their sons. Have always been curious as to what happened to them and where they are buried. I do have information on the Hannahs - Thomas and his wife Howard Edwards (buried in College Corners, IN) and their ancestors that I am willing to share.
