BROWN, COOK, LANGSTON posted by Alice Trimble on Monday, June 2, 1997

Bennet Langston and wife Mary Brown came from Union Co., SC and moved to near the present town of Liberty, Union Co., IN about 1812. They both lived there till 1852 (her death) and he until his death in 1860. They are buried in the old Baptist graveyard called Village Creek southeast of Connersville, IN. Do you know of any history of the area that might mention the Langston's. Could he have been one of the first settlers and brought the name of the county from South Carolina? Bennett's son James married Jennie Cook in Liberty Co., IN in 1818 before moving to Wabash Co., IN.

CLINE, LOGAN, WOOD posted by Aasha Leahy on Saturday, June 21, 1997

I am looking for William LOGAN and Elizabeth McCARTHY. They were married on March 31, 1814 in Franklin, IN. William's parents are Hugh LOGAN and Sarag WOOD. Hugh and Sarah married in Botetourt Co., VA in 1780 and 5 months later sold all of their land. (I have documentation for this.) William and Elizabeth's son is named William Harrison LOGAN. He was born April 1, 1820 in IN but I don't know where. Logical guess tells me Franklin, but that is only a guess. William Harrison LOGAN married Susan CLINE in 1848 and had a son (Jonathon Wesley LOGAN) in 1851 in Mahaska Co., Iowa, so W.H. Logan may not have married in Indiana. Any information will be helpful and I'm more than willing to share what I know.
