He died around 1900 in Union Co., Indiana and is buried in West Point Cemetery in Union Co. He maried Maria GAMBREL born 1839 in Ohio on December 5, 1866 in Union Co. Two children were Nancy E. HAMMOND born 1866 in Ohio and Jerry B. HAMMOND born 1874 in Indiana. Another wife was Daisy Jane ARDERY; he married her June 8, 1899 in Union Co. In his will he leaves property to Elizabeth GEORGE, Myrtle MILLS, William AMMERMAN, Ada HAMMOND, Guilford HAMMOND, Jennie HAMMOND, William J. HAMMOND, Rosa WHEATLY, Odelia BARRICK and Lois D. RUDD.
