Welcome to INGenWeb's Unknown County page!
Sometimes we know an ancestor lived in a state by locating a small piece of information from a census
record, a Bible record, or family lore that has been passed down through the generations. That small piece of
information may lead you to Indiana, the Hoosier State. If you get lucky you may find the Indiana county your
ancestor came to call home through that tidbit of information. However, sometimes even with that small piece of
information, you don't know and we certainly know you're diligently trying to find is "where" your ancestor
lived in Indiana.
You've landed at the INGenWeb Unknown County website and our goal is to help you find resources to locate your
ancestor in Indiana. The INGenWeb Unknown County web site does not have data available for the researcher.
This web site is set up to help you locate genealogy resources available in Indiana and general resources in general.
Indiana has a number of facilities where genealogists flock to on a regular basis to search for their known and
not-so-unknown ancestors. The Indiana State Library, Indiana State Archives and the Allen County Library are only but
a few facilities that will aid you in your Indiana research. We will learn about these facilities later.
My name is Darlene Anderson and I am
your coordinator for the INGenWeb Unknown County page. I hope you enjoy your trip through the INGenWeb Unknown County
web site. If you have any suggestions, questions, comments or know about resources not listed on this web site
please send me an email. Remember please I
cannot perform genealogy research for you.
