Ola Borders (Botner) Thorne was born to Christopher Columbus "CC" and Mary Letitia (Borders) Botner.  She married Lawrence William Thorne on December 25, 1904 in Clinton.  She was the mother of 4 children: Ilo Elizabeth, William Lawrence, Cecil and Mary Alice.  Cecil T.  (September 21-26, 1913) died as an infant, and Mary Alice (December 14, 1905-January 23, 1947) died 6 weeks after her father from a mental related disease.  They are both buried in Bono Cemetery.  She was a very strong and independent woman who loved the Lord.  She lived alone in a house next to her son's until she was admitted into the hospital shortly before her death.  She died as a result of complications to Shingles in the Vermillion County Hospital on February 23, 1971.  She is buried in Bono Cemetery.
