I recently discovered that my public library has a subscription to NewspaperArchive.com. It's a database collection of millions of scanned and keyword-searchable newspapers (including some Fort Wayne papers) and it's growing everyday. I have found some "Uniondale News" columns that appeared haphazardly in the early 1920s that mention many Wells County families. The columns contain "society" type news -- who went to town, who was sick, that kind of thing, but it's all quite interesting!

This database is only accessible from within the library, so I can't offer lookups, but I'll try to post interesting tidbits to the Message Board when I find them. I have already begun posting some columns, and will add more, with a webpage linking to each message to follow at some point in the future.

You might want to check with your public library to see if they have access, and if they don't, ask them to check into it -- it's free to them!
