Travis’ of Wells County, Indiana Unhooked

  1. John B. Travis married Susanna Biddle on 10/30/1897.He was born on 9/1875 (OH) and she was born on 10/1876 (OH).
    1. On 6/1/1894, they had Harold Travis (IN),
    2.  2/6/1904 twin girls(IN),
    3.  Dale Travis (IN) on 6/1/1888,
    4.  twin girls(IN) on 11/29/1901
    5. . on 12/9/1889(IN)they had Letha Mae Travis.
  2. Letha married Charles Ellis Heckber on  
    1. 10/12/1916 in Wells Cy, IN. His father was Theodore, and his mother was Rebecca Hiser. They had a son Dale, a daughter Carol Sue(who
    2. Married a Drudge),and a son Raymond  born 9/26/1917 and died
    3. 2/29/2000. ( Wells County and Fort Wayne resp.)
    4. Ray married MaryL. Caston in Hoagland, IN on 12/24/1940.
    5.  Their children are Don and Sharon who married Ted Kaufman.

 

         On the 1900 Fed Census John and Oliver are list one above the other in Jefferson Twp as if they were neighbors. Since both have same surname and were born in OH, perhaps they were related.

 

 

  1. Louis William Travis (b. ABT 1864) and Catherine Thomas (b. ABT 1866) had Dorwin Lee Travis (b 1884).

     a.   He married Jennie Mae Humfer (b 1886) in Wells Cy, IN. Her father   was Martin Humfer and her mother was Mary P.(O.?) Stepp.

 

  1. Earl N. (W?) Travis (b. ABT 1878) and Margaret Streeter  (b. ABT 1879) had William B. Travis  (b 10/22/1899).
    1. He married Frances Benton (b 11/23/1909) on 9/12/1951 in Wells Cy, IN. Her father was Fred Lesh (b. ABT 1878) and her mother was Ethel Bush (b. ABT 1879).

 

 

  1. William Travis (b. ABT 1862) married Mary Thomas (b. ABT 1863) in Wells Cy, IN.

    a.   Their daughter Flora Travis (b 1882) married James Motz (b 1879) on  8/23/1900 in Wells Cy, IN. His father was Martin (b. ABT 1862) and his   mother was Matilda Fusselman ( b. ABT 1863). James’ brother was George E.  (b 1872) and he married Ruth S. Spaulding (b 1887) on 8/26/1933 in Wells Cy, IN. Her father was Leander A. and her mother was M. J. Shelton.

    b.    Flora and James had a boy on 12/12/1900 and another boy on 7/10/1902.

    1. Jack H. Travis born on 1/10/1908 and died on 5/7/1910 in Bluffton, IN.
