Presbyterian Church (originally known as Scots Church) on Athy Road, Carlow  was opened for worship on 25 June 1818. The church was designed by Thomas A. Cobden who designed many prominent buildings in the Carlow area.
 
Freemasons Lodge
The Masonic Lodge appears in 'Carlow in Old Picture Postcards by Michael Purcell (1994), Built in 1895 by William Weir of Palatine and Edward Brophy of Dublin Road, Carlow. It was designed by W. Morrison. There used to be eight small houses to the right of the Lodge; they were built for the employees of Haughton's grain store.
St Dympna's Lodge, Athy Road, just beyond the Seven Oaks Hotel (formally the Crofton Hotel). The picture is taken looking towards Carlow. St Dympna's first opened as the Carlow/Kildare Lunatic Asylum in 1834.
St Anne's Wall. Athy Road opposite St Dympna's, The picture is taken looking towards Carlow. The wall is all that remains of the former St Anne's Church (Church of Ireland) on the Athy Road.
This picture of the Crofton taken late c.1950's from my own collection. Originally these premises were known as Greenbank House, Athy Road, Carlow was the home of the Haughton family. Later Michael Molloy M.P. lived here.
