St. Patrick's Day parade in Carlow town was a great spectacle - lots of colour, flags and banners galore, huge community involvement and a mardi gras atmosphere as the town basked in glorious spring sunshine.

It was the town’s first parade since 2003. The parade was televised on an RTÉ Six-One News special for the first time since 2000. This year’s theme was Unity and Diversity. Shops and businesses throughout the town added to the atmosphere by decorating their windows.
