John Fitzgerald Kennedy Pipe Band


Mick Byrne of Castledermot on the flag and his two wolfhounds Diesard & Diamuid lead the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Pipe Band over the bridge in Graiguecullen c.1965.
Players were Johnny, Cake Byrne, John Joe Murphy, Paddy Condron, [Big Drum] John Kearns, Jim Abbott, Pascal Tomlinson and the dog men were Paddy Priest and Hugh Hayden. The old name for the band was St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band… Castledermot.
In the background we can see the banner of thr  I.N.F  St. Patricks Branch, Carlow.
