This photo is of my Grandfather, John Joseph Nolan, whose stage name was Shaun O'Farrell. He was an Irish tenor who performed throughout Ireland. This is a cast photo from Lily of Killarney, a light 3-act opera by Julius Benedict. He performed as the character of O'Moore. The Lily of Killarney became the most widely performed of Benedict's operas.

The boy in the back row, third from the left, is my Dad. I wonder how many other little boys will be recognised?

This is a special prize for me. The two gentlemen in the back row on the far left are my Great Grandfather, Thomas James Nolan (on the end of the row) and next to him is my Grandfather John Joseph Nolan. The picture is a little blurry, but it's on a kind of cardboard backing and is too large for my scanner. I hope it can be cleaned up a little.
