Carlow Then & Now
By Alec Burns
An exhibit notice in the
Hucksters Shop portion of the museum, states
that the "Grocers & Allied Trades Assistants
Association have agreed with the undersigned
Employees to close their establishments for a
weekly half day on Wednesdays. It does not state
a date however but it must have been in the late
twenties or early thirties, from it one can get
a picture of how much the ownership of the
business premises have changed.
