This is a work in progress, and a composite list of kings as researched in the Irish Annals and other sources. A line item beginning with a letter indicates an entry from the Annals, along with the corresponding year of the entry. A line item beginning with a ? indicates a source other than the Annals, many of these from the Book of Munster. Abbreviations for the Annals include: M=Four Masters; U=Ulster; CS=Chronicon Scotorum; AI=Inisfallen; FA=Fragmentary, and so on. Items in round parentheses ( ) indicate probable clann affiliation, e.g EC=Eoganacht Caisel; DC=Dal gCais;. and so on.
