He was discharged in 1866 and soon afterwards contacted Typhoid Fever from which he died. After James' death Julia then married Patrick O'Neil, who was also a soldier and fought with James in the war. Julia and Patrick had two more children: Joseph W. O'Neil b. Sept. 1872 and Annastacia O'Neil b. 1875. Most of this information was found in the 1880 U. S. Federal Census of Baltimore, MD. Query: Thomas Shirley married Margaret Butler, daughter of the Duke of Ormond Butler. Their children were Anne b 1786 Leighlinsbridge, Co Carlow, William b 1794 Castlecomer, Kilkenny, John and Paul. William married Mary Ounaghan in the early 1800's. We will be in Kilkenny in April and would like help researching this family. Query: Looking for my Great Grandparents:- William Butler and Anne Marie Bowes both born about 1833. He worked in a copper factory and she was a governess before coming to England (Newcastle upon Tyne area) where they married in 1858. William's parents were Edward and Margaret Butler and Anne Marie's were James and Mary Bowes. Any information greatly appreciated. Thanks Cheryl Henderson
