Sally/Sarah - 3 siblings I would think.
[John Dalton son of James Dalton and Mary (nee Coney/Coyne) was born between 1827
and 1829 in Kilkenny (and could possibly have come from Inistioge, between New
Ross and Thomastown) but we think he was born about 1843 as that was his age
stated on his marriage certificate. He was a farmer. He was supposed to have been
imprisoned awaiting execution when he was helped to escape and fled to Australia.
He married Catherine Mary Markey in Hobart, Tasmania on 8 July 1866. They had
three children there; James Alfred, Alice Cecilia and Letitia. They then
immigrated to New Zealand c1874 and finally settled in Taranaki, New Zealand.
They had six more children; Rose, John, Henry Patrick, Estasia Katherine,
Florence May, Francis and Bryan Fenton. I am looking for any family connections,
info or origin in Ireland - the family christian names above may help]

1883. His death certificate says his parents were Patrick Ryan and Mary Bugger.
Any advice on where I can start to trace this family? I can't find the name
Bugger anywhere. Does anyone know if it translates to something else in Ireland?
Thanks!

Surnames: Daly, mid to late 1800's
Query: I have a second name, Peter Daly. James did some writing and
I have a passage called, "A Dream"
Last night I draemed I was in County Wicklow by the lovely sea side, I imagined I
traveled to Dublin, then south to the town of Killbride. I fancied that I saw the
vale of Avoca, where the waters do meet, I then crossed the county to Glanaily,
to me far more sweet.
My next visit was to the Seven Churches, Where I oft had been before,I enjoyed
myself once more on Glandelough's gloomy shore. From that to Pooloofooca,
Logalow, and back to the Devil's Glen. There I knocked at the gate, but they
would not allow me in.
I then visited Dunran Mountain, and the famed glen of the Downs, It was there I
saw Sir John Ripton, hunting his fine pack of hounds. My last visit was to
Delgany and then the Dargle, the sweetest of them all, I awoke, greatly alarmed,
by the noise of the grand waterfall.
I hope that this might in some way help in my search.
James Daly may have been a policeman in Dublin.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Browne b. 1804 and his bride Deborah Owens had all their children born in

They were married in the Town of Bess (Bessborough?)in King's County. Cooper's

Query: The above, John Archdekin Tallent, is
my great grandfather,
born Kilkenny c1827, married Mary MULLALLy in 1855, Ireland
Mary was born in Callan, Kilkenny 1831. They had 2 children in Ireland, Johanna
c1856 and Thomas 1857 and then they emigrated to Victoria, Australia and had a
further 10 children. As I have searched for years for my ancestors I would love
to know more about them. They arrived in Aust. in 1857, ship unknown, and he was
employed as a Compositor for the Age newspaper. His occupation in Ireland was
apparently the same.
The name ARCHDEKIN as a 2nd forename intrigues and puzzles me as I assume it may
have been a family name at some time but have been unable to solve that mystery
either. Someone once told me that Archdekin became Cody, is that correct?
Hoping you may be able to shed some light on this for me, I thank you very much
for your efforts.

BUTLER & THOMAS EDWARD BUTLER

Query: Looking for infomation on Edward Thomas Butler - born 1844.
English census records show he was born in London, but there is not trace of him
at the Family Records Office. His father was Thomas Edward Butler born in
Ireland. Possible that Edward Thomas was also born in Ireland and taken to London
as a baby, not realising his Irish birth. Family legend states that Thomas Edward
was one of the sons of the Butlers of Kilkenny, but when his father remarried, he
did not get on with his step mother and left home to go to England. Some years
later someone came looking for him because his elder brothers had died, but
Thomas was away at sea, and his wife knew nothing of the connection with
aristocracy, and so sent the man away. When Thomas retuned he confirmed that he
was the man they were looking for, but made no effort to establish connection
with his family. The legend may well be fanciful, but I would still like to trace
our Irish roots if I can. Any information on how to go about this would be
appreciated. Please head any e-mails "Butler" - I get so much junk mail that I
tend to delete anything I don't recognise.

Query: My Great Great Grandmother lived in Templescoby 3 miles out
of the town of Enniscorthy.
Her father was Thomas and her mother Mary Furlong nee Murphy and she was related
but have not established exactly how to Matt Furlong who died holding the flag of
Truce carrying a message from the United Irish to General Johnson of the british
forces.
Her uncle was said to have been Edward Fitzgerald she was said to have been the
grand daughter of the first Earl of Leinster.
I have done a lot of searching.
The most important of my first questions is how did her parents fit into the
family tree.
Secondly how was it possible for her Uncle to have been Lord Edward Fitzgerald of
New Park not Newbawn.
Now one thing of interest that I have established is that a Mary Anne Furlong
married a Thomas Dunphy and it is believed that they lived at Newbawn.
Edward Fitzgerald namesake of Lord Edward Fitzgerald lived at Newbawn. They were
both involved in the 1798 Uprising. they knew each other if not were related
(highly likely)
