I am looking for any information I can find on the origin of the Williams Family of Kilkenny Ireland. According to microfilm records for the Roman Catholic Parish of Clara, James Patrick Williams (my gggreat-grandfather) was married to an Ellen Brennan in February 1826. I do not have the names of James' parents but I believe he had two sisters and two brothers Margaret (married a Michael or James Phelan), Mary (married James Murphy), Christopher, and Joseph.
I believe that James' ancestors last name may have been Boleyn. My grandfather found a family tree chart in the New York Public Library titled "Boleyn, Now Williams" but I do not have a copy of it. The chart tells of a branch of the Boleyn family that changed their name to Williams sometime around the 1600's. Please email me if you have any information that could help me in my search to find our original family name. Thank you. A. Williams
