Mallow Field Club Journal

No. 3 - 1985

We hope our readers have enjoyed the previous two issues of our journal and that the current production will be a source of new interest and information. Getting out this journal involves much work but gives great satisfaction.

The purpose of the Mallow Field Club journal is to record the history and perpetuate the memory of the way of life of our ancestors; as well as to increase awareness of the local ecology. This involves researching and collecting material from any and every source. While always encouraging original research, use must inevitably be made of already researched material from historical journals and books. We nvite anyone who has historical material such as old letters, photographs or account books to contact us. We are interested in every type of historical material, archaeological finds, geology, and nature study.

Snippets of apparently insignificant material nay be of vital interest to future generations.

We wish to thank our contributors and our readers for their support and we hope the present volume has reached the high standard of our previous issues.
