Notes. 1. The first names have been spelled out, but ordinarily were abbreviated: Patt. for Patrick, etc.
2. Some townland names do not appear in the Ordnance Survey; these have a (?) in the first column. On the other hand, some names in the Ordnance survey do not appear in the Tithe Applotment. We have appended the list of townlands, and their meaning based on the Irish name, from Wood-Martin Vol. 3, and, in italics, the name as it appears in the Tithe Applotment.
3. The Tithe Applotment names were probably supplied by the land owner from his records. The names are hand-written, and thus subject to many potential errors in transcription, especially my inability to read 1824 Irish hand-writing from a journal.
4. The numbers with each name appear to be in pencil, and probably applied by the Irish Land Commission. The Applotment book also contains the area and value of each holding, and these are available on the film.
